Right at the beginning of this video when he talks about scholarship disparities, I was reminded of a conversation I had with a woman about in her mid 20s and college enrollments dropping off for men (about 8 years ago). I pointed this out to her and her response was that scholarships were in place to help level the playing field for women in a male-dominated education system. When I further explained to her that the issue wasn't a lack of female enrollment but that women were already outnumbering men in college because, in part, there were more grants and programs for women than for men she just shrugged and concluded that it meant that the extra programs were working.

So she initially thought women were underrepresented and needed the additional programs, and when I explained that it was just the opposite she still considered women oppressed and in need of more assistance. This was own group preference (read:bigotry) in action, as women are factually better off but demand more instead of equality. VAWA also illustrates this issue.

The system can't help men because the system is sabotaging men. The best thing the system can do is to stop sabotaging men, and let men help themselves.
