I think they just wanted them as "side dudes", while they cheat on their Caucasian bfs and husbands.

Of course on Maury, they get to use shaming language on the husband or bf, when the kid come out with a much "darker" complexion, as the husband or bf (if they have a brain) simply #Walkaway.

@sauger1001: Those shows helped drag the U.S. into the sewer, starting with Jerry Springer. The one "spoof" show of those, Night Stand with Dick Dietrict, was funny as hell.

@GenerationLESS: I remember another spoof...and didn't that one crazy bitch Rikki Lake maybe, we used to call her NAZI Lake, become "White Oprah?" These dumb shows did two things.. first it made women feel better about themselves while they screwed over the men in their lives, and second, it increased the domestic abuse onto men because the THOT was like "I never thought about do that..." They just kept upping the ante and the crazy...

@WMHarrison94: Her and Jenny Jones were supposed to be the next "Oprah" wannabes. Jones ended up being a witness at a couple of trials; one was a civil trial, and the other a murder trial, both back in the mid to late '90s. Info can probably be Googled (or DuckDuckGo). Only been worse since.

@sauger1001: To be "fair", Oprah was following the footsteps of Phil Donohue, who had pretty controversial episodes, starting back in the late '60s, and finally ending in the mid '90s.

@WMHarrison94: Night Stand with Dick Dietrict was fiction. They didn't try to say it was real, using some of the same actors or different episodes. But whose to say that those weren't actors on the "legit" shows?

@sauger1001: Phil was married to Danny Thomas' daughter Marlo. The inbreedeing in politics and Hollywood sure is prolific.

@GenerationLESS: LMAO! I remember watching that episode. She appeared to approach him, and the rest as they say, is history. I believe they're still married. Haven't heard of a divorce... yet. Lol!
