This video is brought to you by a donation from Greg. He didn't send me a topic so I wanted to cover the rise of homeless boomer women. The fastest growing homeless population today are seniors. Boomers had it pretty good. I've heard many of them share stories about how back in the seventies they could tons of work and there was a labor shortage. If they didn't like one job they could move to another in only a few days. I've told boomers before that all they had to do was get a semi-decent job and buy a cheap house and they would easily be worth one to two million dollars today. If they didn't get at least that they would be a failure. But many boomer women got divorced, their children are grown so the child support money is gone and maybe they lost their house in 2008 or were always renting. Over the last three years rent and food prices have gone up due to inflation and suddenly they can't afford a roof over their heads so they find themselves homeless or living in their vehicle. Other women they relied on their husbands to take care of the finances and after he gets nagged to death they can't manage their money. A lot of boomers refused to learn how to use computers and phones and I'm sure many of you out there provide tech support services for your parents. You also see entitled boomer mothers that can't afford to live on their own moving in with their kids and then demanding the kids do what they want. The kids end up kicking them out because grandma boomer is bossing them under their own roof. There are also younger women that are mentally ill unfit mothers and lost their kids and the child support payments that came with them. Whatever the reason they are falling through the cracks and ending up destitute. But women don't want to be in shelters because they don't want to be taken advantage of by men in there. Most women don't even want to admit they are homeless and will live in a car or RV. There are now ten RVs pretty much parked fulltime at my local Walmart. A year ago there were maybe one or two. That's one way they are holding on to a roof over their heads. In the future you could see homeless trailer park encampments outside your local Walmart syphoning off the power in the parking lot and providing a consumer base for the store. Why do you think the film Nomadland was so big a couple of years ago. A boomer woman living in her van in South Dakota. That's reality now. Women also have a lot of mental health issues these days. One third is medicated for a mental condition and what do you think happens in coming years when automation takes mostly female jobs and they can no longer afford their drug plans? No more anti-depressants and anti-psychotic medications and with no metal asylums there's going to be an epidemic of unmedicated gilfs desperate and depressed tranqed out in their Toyotas living the high life. Literally. It's going to get even harder for the younger homeless women because remember young guys are not making as much as previous generations and so by the time they get older they won't have an assets for older women to take by marrying them. The beta backup plan guys are increasingly living in the moment and not saving enough for the future where they have to feed a female.
