I knew that UK society was a goner when the daughter of a good friend of mine who I'd seen growing up into an English rose over the years, came back from university and promptly turned gay, picket fence out the window. If even she couldn't make it to the altar and the 2.4, it was as diagnostic as opening a bottle of wine and getting the whiff of vinegar.
