‘We are fighting a war against Russia and not against each other’ - German FM

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock has called for an end to infighting and finger pointing among Western allies, as Berlin has finally given in to international pressure over tank deliveries to Ukraine.

Speaking at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg on Tuesday, Baerbock warned against Western bickering, saying that ‘We are fighting a war against Russia and not against each other.’ The minister did acknowledge Germany’s role in the ongoing argument, saying that ‘Yes, we have to do more to defend Ukraine, yes, we have to do more also on tanks,’ but that unity was the most ‘crucial part’ of supporting Ukraine.
