I think they went with the fuel dump because it's plausible deniability "oops sorry about your drone". They couldn't openly attack because they were over international airspace. The Russians weren't about to let them openly spy on them and pass the info onto Ukraine.

I got to thinking "Why did the cunning Rooshians, use this combination of techniques?

1. Flooding the atmosphere with a very fuel dense mixture, and
2. Why did the drone conk out almost immediately - as the fighter approached / passed it?

When you examine the video on a frame by frame basis.... from 26 seconds onwards... the drone just conks out.

I think the fuel dump was to make the planes visible to the Americans and, they used some super powerful transmitter / radio frequency - radar jammer / directional radar to fuck the drones electronics, on the second pass.

Because the image pixellates as the fighter gets close, and when the fighter is just passing the screen / camera goes dead, indicating the electronics are fried / the drone is "dead in the air".

I don't think the drones electronics are radiation hardened to any appreciable degree - shielded yes against radio interference - but not hardened, and a VERY Strong signal close up, would cook the chips... .

Kind of like putting your running laptop in a microwave oven.

I went and asked the people in Russia if my determination was correct.

It would be easy enough for either side to fry the drone. Apparently Russia has an anti-drone weapon in service.
