ULEZ and 2 Stroke Motorcycles

I have a '97 Lawnboy walk behind a it still runs perfectly, I'm never getting rid of it!

@bigintol03: I am trying to be funny - but I feel as down as hell about remembering that guy with the RD 350 - his life was a total fuck up.... His old man fucked his mother, they had him, and they they parted company and his father who I met, didn't seem to like him very much, it wasn't "Hey Son - great to see you, how are you doing?" - nope it was like, "Oh no.... not that retarded fuckwit of a boy from that stupid bitch"....... Glad I got out of there and away from him though....

@bigintol03: The secret to a 2 stroke is not to thrash the engine which will cause ring and bore wear to occure quicker. On a lawn mower the rev's are pre set I guess and it will run forever. I'm sure if 2 strokes were no good Firetrucks and rescue vehicles wouldn't carry them as pumps and generators?

@bigintol03: People think because 2 strokes are fast and used to be used in racing they forget that a Racing Team would have to rebuild that engine pretty much for every race. Put a 2 stroke in say a MOPED the thing would run for years without much trouble maybe the odd wet plug or two,

@mrghoster: 2 stroked ARE good, mostly the power to weight ratio, and they are very light = portable and they can be made to either be a slow slogger and last forever, or they can be racing motors with very high power outputs, with very narrow power bands and they need new pistons, rings and a rebore every 5 races or something like that - but they go like absolute stink, AND then you get units that are set up some where in between....... Fire fighting pumps = very light, portable, and able to be reliable AND have a fairly decent power output.... with a servicing every 100 hours or something.....

@bigintol03: Naaaaa that was about 40 years ago... I found out from a mutual aquaintance 20 years ago and looked it all up - yep it all checks out... but I don't revel in his death, nor do I wallow in misery about it.... The house is still there with new weatherboards, a white picket fence, the laneway next to it - sealed... Sometimes the past just belongs in the past..... and sometimes it's necessary to revisit some things... The basis of the connection was the Yamaha RD 350 - water cooled and went like shit off a stick.... Fuck it was fast..... Bog stock out of the show room...... I don't hate the bikes but Australia is a HUGE place with lots of distance to cover for many things...... the RD isn't a touring bike... I was looking at some NEW Harleys and they have the 114 cubic inches and then they have the hotted up versions, and they are like 117 cubic inches... I forget the exact calculations but I think it was 16.4cc to a cubic inch - so the 117's are 1.9 liter motors... and you know... I was looking to see if they still made the old 80 cubic inch motors... Though with the emission laws the carburettors and points and coil ignition are long gone... Only got Fool Injection now... I don't really want to remember him.... he was a totally selfish prick who would smoke all your drugs with you and NEVER EVER share any of his weed.... even though he was dealing..... and had a fair bit. I can sort of remember his first name but his last name sort of sputters into existence for a second and disappears... I remembered his buddy - who stabbed him too.... I forget the full sort of story... He was seriously injured from being stabbed and the complications from it took a year to kill him... If a woman comes at you with a carving knife - shoot to kill - first.
