Back when Mexico was under the rule of the triple-alliance (Aztec empire & affiliated tribes), the Spanish formed a grand-alliance with the subjugated tribes of the land in order to topple the Aztec forces. Once the triple-alliance was fully defeated, the Spanish kept their end of the deal and shared their technology/language/medicine/etc. while helping to rebuild/'modernize' (for the time) the people & land. They also aggressively outlawed slavery & human sacrifice since it was part of the deal.
If the Spanish had betrayed their former allies or their allies had betrayed them, it would have led to a massive shitshow where the grand-alliance would fracture into two or more sides, followed by a never ending series of skirmishes, guerrilla war & factional conflict that would keep every side very weak & stupid..... ok yeah but I mean BEFORE the modernization of the people & land, is what I'm saying. Basically, the haitians are fkking stupid...... even the previously enslaved tribes that couldn't read and could barely count knew better than to do what the haitians did, and that was back in the early 1500s whereas the haitians did what TFM is talking about in the 1800s (?) I think.
@04:48:56 Yep, TFM did indeed collab with Dr Dutton. Notably, Dr Dutton asked TFM a lot of poignant questions and would write things down as TFM would respond. He was also quite respectful & articulate, though definitely eccentric. I think it was a pretty friendly & positive collab but I'm not sure if TFM will remember it that way..... hmm.
