Clearly Russia's strategy of keeping the Ukraine war out of Western headlines while slowly grinding down Ukrainian military capability is working, so it is actually in Ukraine's interest to try to force an escalation. At the current pace it is only a matter of time until Ukraine simply collapses and it drops out of the headlines after a week when then next tranny shoots up a school.
If Russia starts massing tanks near Kiev and Kharkov again in reaction to these civilian attacks, NATO can start beating the drum on media for more funding and involvement escalation.
