@00:37:00 Ahem, KIMI (From Moonshot A.I.) is NOT China's newest A.I. model but it did release Kimi K3 recently which has 'muh 3.8 trillion parameters'.
Kimi K3 is slightly overrated IMO but it is indeed very good. A lot of the 'ZMOG KIMI K3 SO GUD!! SO BESTO!!' hype is bullshit but the actual A.I. model itself in practice does perform very well.
TFM is right about competition though and his overall point is rock solid.

Holy shit, TFM was more right than I thought. Google deepmind has just rushed gemini 3.6 flash (& other minis) out today, DESPITE their official statements being that they had missed their deadline and would publish them after yet another month of iterating. Now they're saying only Gemini 3.6 PRO is delayed but they drove the other iterative models out the door despite minimal broadcasting or fanfare which is *highly* irregular for google but especially google deepmind.
There's no way this isn't related to the Kimi K3 release because the new gemini models are marketed as being CHEAPER TO USE than the previous ones, same as Anthropic's Claude.
