@05:24:50 That's how it has always been. As long as you don't mess with the narcos or get involved with them/the government, you would generally not be at risk. People could go their entire lives without ever seeing the conflict unless they'd actively seek it out. Of course there are exceptions but they were a very small minority, while the bulk of the conflict has always been between the narcos & the government but especially corrupt politicians & corrupt police.

A big reason why the narcos are able to operate is because they, broadly speaking, have the support of the people or at minimum, most citizens of Mexico whether due to fear, indifference or actively supporting the narcos, would never report them or act against the narcos in any way. I know I wouldn't...... the narcos are the *Only* thing keeping the MORENAZI pieces of shit in check. Late last year, a politician's wife & mother, or possibly wife & daughter I don't remember exactly, were found murdered in his home. When that happened, there was a huge investigation launched and all government agencies went into full effect right away to find out what happened & who was behind it. There was a major effort by the (Utterly corrupt) media to push the assassinations as a 'tragedy' and that it should 'never happen in Mexico'..... meanwhile the government does that kind of crap to citizens all the time or at minimum, doesn't care when a citizen's family is killed, so the appeal to the citizenry did not resonate at all. If anything I got the impression that most people were disgusted (Finally).

Anyway, if the narcos started killing random uninvolved people, they would immediately lose the broad support of the citizens and would be wiped out fast or at minimum would no longer be able to do business. Revy is not wrong in what he indicated but his seeming 'surprise' at it is somewhat farcical and reveals a very 'U.S.' brained person that refuses to see the actual problems in Mexico , instead focusing on 'MUH CRATELZ'.

Thus, they are required to get checked every certain amount of time..... of course you can find ones without any of that but you run obvious risks.
