Speaking of the bible and Genesis I do remember there being at least three different creation stories.
While Christianity is a monotheistic religion... many religions that predated it were not. Sumer, the mysteries of Babylon, etc...
Here is a thought, probably wrong but maybe not; after decades, centuries, millennia any record, not matter how carefully preserved will accumulate inaccuracies; even purely done in innocence a bad brushstroke, a mispronunciation, a change in the meeting of a word or phrase.
The religions of earth are corrupted.
So according to the bible Pride is irredeemable; wanting to be like god is the greatest sin possible, disagreeing with god also an impressively grave sin...
Conditions that work far more in favor of dominating and controlling others than uplifting oneself and their fellow man. A child who loves their parent will idolize them, wanting to be like them...
Humankind a creation of (a) god... shouldn't want to be like that beloved parent; isn't that odd?
So fearsome and wondrously created... but wanting to be free (self empowered) and creative (building) like god is a malfunction; a very common malfunction of something divinely created... that's odd.
Not entirely sure how an all loving god could both order babies to be dashed upon rocks (but keep the virgins) but loves everyone so much that they have a blood sacrifice of their own child... I'm not a parent personally but any parent who's going to arrange to have their child sacrificed, and violently and sit and do nothing.... That doesn't sound like an ideal example of a parent. If god's power was absolute there would be no need for such a sacrifice. If god were all knowing then why would god have allowed the capacity for 'sin' that might even possibly result in a need for sacrifice.
If there were more than one god things could be explained much more clearly... If there was a god of the world and a god of creation and an all loving god and a god of absolute rule/justice/judgement that could be a much better explanation also.
Or maybe we're all just electric sheep, hallucinating collectively?
