Whoever the guy is who is saying the Constitution is antiquated is ignorant. Has probably never read the entirety of the Constitution, has probably never read The Federalist Papers, has probably never read The Anti-Federalist Papers, has probably never studied the debates held during the Constitutional Convention, has probably never read The Magna Carta, has probably never read the Mayflower Compact, etc., etc.

He doesn't know history. I can agree there are sections of the Constitution that were written to address problems immediate to the situations of the New England colonists that aren't really applicable to today. And it most certainly was written in the cadence of 18th Century English as spoken in that era. But none of that in any way invalidates the broader principles enshrined within.

The genius of the Constitution is it is the first founding document of any nation, ever, that (A) puts restrictions on the GOVERNMENT rather than on the People and (B) recognizes and affirms the existence of inalienable rights of human beings. Rights that are not to be violated by the government. And this ignoramus wants to declare it outdated?!?!? What is outdated about protecting inalienable human rights from the predations of sociopaths in positions of political power? Because, at it's heart, that's what the Constitution is. It recognizes the necessary evil that government is, then does everything it can to put that evil in a box.

A classic case of someone armed with a tiny bit of knowledge thinking he knows better and has the solutions to our problems through what I can only guess would be very self-serving policy recommendations on his part. I would seriously question the motives of anyone suggesting the Constitution is outdated; either they're willfully ignorant of the mountain of history (and all the blood, sweat, and tears from the rise and fall of dozens of empires that implies) that it took to get to the point of having a Constitution in the first place or they have a malicious ulterior motive.
