The Black Piller VS. The Positivity Cultist

Have you ever met someone who obnoxiously and artificially forced themselves to be positive and then insisted that you be that way too? The reality we inhabit is split and not one that is universally shared. The problem is one side can acknowledge both worlds and the other is completely blind to it.

Daddy Stardusk doesn't like to communicate with his cult. Link your paychecks directly to his PayPal if you're so concerned. Do I get a cut too for helping you out?

Those of us who made our home in the void realized long ago that we all have different realities.

This tendency, however, is adaptive. Even back in New Atheism ~15 years ago it was questioned why so many people are religious. The ultimate conclusion was that, in those infamous primordial times, the most fervent believers were the most likely to do whatever it took to prosper, and that the faiths that demanded to be spread, to conquer, to convert others won out while various non-believers and more 'level-headed' types were vanquished. On religion, The Bible itself advocates for this, having done so for multiple millennia now depending on the book. Group selection not only works, but it's the most likely to succeed selection process we have.

This is also, albeit this is a bit off topic, why dark triad traits are so desired and tend to do so well. Most people are built to simply be. If their genetics scream at them to do something, they do it - no questions asked. A minority of people realized this and took advantage of it, their main motives being to falsely adopt and subvert whatever system they occupy. An even smaller few, colloquially known as "autists", see through life, like the dark triad folk, but don't seek to subvert or dominate, thereby being in the most suffering-inducing situation of all.

There won't be some "great awakening" when the Cult of Positivity realizes that not everyone believes what they do and that some might even suffer due to their actions. Quite the contrary, as we see throughout history, those of us who don't believe will be outcast, persecuted, and even forcibly "roped", to use incel terminology. In conjunction with the Woke and Psychology, the new religion, especially if all three merge together, might be the most overbearing yet.
