The incentive is to invest in themselves. If you have no skills when the power truly goes out, you will find yourself among the useless minions. If you know how to work, with your hands, you will be a boss.

I've noticed a manhua genre that's very popular in China is the "cultivation" genre where the hero builds up power over multiple lifetimes and then exacts revenge on the people who hurt him. Even in fantasy, the Chinese don't believe in getting a reward for their efforts within one lifetime. How horrible is that? The system making them feel that way deserves nothing

this type of thinking stems from Confucianism i am told, the idea is very different then the west, I have heard in china if you get scammed by fraud or swindled, they blame you instead of the fraudster or the swindler. They say in china it is acceptable that someone should be programmed to anticipate no class mobility that all should be satisfied with the lot they have in life and to not strive for better, I think they have twisted some of these concepts with a communist bent though. It is sad the mental abuse the chinese have suffered to become so conformist, but as we see, even somewhere deep down they yearn for freedom still, it is fundamental to being a human.

@TelepathicRapist: The no class mobility in China goes back hundreds of years. It would take a family several generations to move it's members up a notch.

RPM, so what are the lazy, worthless Millennials & Generation Zeros gonna do??? Live with their parents untill they die then who's gonna support them??? Here's a radical idea : Get training or go to school for jobs that pay a liveable wage. Radical huh?! For Pete's Sake people, don't spend $150K on a German Polka History Degree (Hat tip Dave Ramsey) and find out the only job you can get is a 20 hour a week job slinging Coffee at Starbucks!!!

Mustang can you please reconsider your comment? I mean this sounds so brutally boomerish I am at a loss for words. this is CHINA we are talking about. I want you to be aware of how screwed some of these guys are over there. IT IS A SAUSAGE FEST OFF THE RICHTER SCALE from the one child policy. There are no non slave wage type jobs for them in a lot of cases and young men have a huge burden there, they have a messed up population pyramid, Imagine a huge family of elderly people one man has to support because of one child policy and no prospects for a decent wife because most of the female children were killed or aborted. They don't know who the F dave ramsay is and a 20 dollar an hour job at starbucks would be a dream job compared to what some of these men are going through. You sound so ignorant I am befuddled by the luxury bubble you must live in to hold these beliefs which are so vastly inconsistent with reality. You sound more entitled than a gen-z blond bimbo. You should be grateful you never had to slave under a sick CCP communist controlled system and be locked down in a shanghai hellhole quarantine camp. Have a little empathy man.

In 1975 the federal minimum wage was $2.10 an hour. gas was $0.27 a gallon meaning you could buy about 7 gallons of gas back then for one hour of work. If adjusting for inflation, the same pay today would be $11.28/hr but right now the federal minimum wage is $7.25 an hour gas is roughly 5 dollars a gallon now meaning you cant even buy 2 gallons. this is just one small example of how severely things have declined and if you look at various data there are other examples particularly regarding the price of housing that shows how much worse off the younger generations are in comparison to the baby boomer.

I like how arrogant the governments around the world are, they just thought that men were just gonna keep slaving for them for no reason. Everyone is always critical of the masses pointing to there npc type behavior but it is refreshing to see a large amount of men waking up and starting non-violent resistance to a system that provides them with nothing and asks from them everything.
