Gunner - I agree. I have a hard time with people who are so cavalier about violence and death. I can't speak for others, but for me it was the smell. That's what I remember most. As for the fight or flight reflex, you really don't know until your in the thick of it. IMO, there's a lot of keyboard hero's out there....who in the face of obliteration will discover what shitting in your pants really means. War and causing death changes a man in ways my words would fail to explain. Anyway, I truly hope this type of violence can be and will be avoided. There are many of us out here who have put the bear in its cage. It would be really bad to open the cage again.

I'm prepping to leave society as we speak. Studying up on the old ways of farming and primitive tool-making and shelter building . If anyone chooses to do this also I'd recommend planning on living like a nomad , always on the move . You don't want to stay put if shtf.

Which is playing right into the hands of our enemies. Divide and conquer. A divided USA is much easier to invade than a united USA. This is no different than what the fledgling states faced following the Revolutionay War; foreign nations just waiting in the wings to pit the states one against the other in hopes of seeing the infant USA fail so they could divide the spoils amongst themselves. Balkanization sounds great on paper; an easy solution to a complex problem. But it is most assuredly a recipe for disaster. There is no fate; there is only what destiny you forge for yourself. No nation prior to the USA had the kind of Constitution we had; a first in history. There's no reason we must abadon hope and assume we're doomed to fall, either. We beat the odds once before, we can do it again.

How many have been in the riots, the protests, the YouTube videos, the talking heads, the politicians, the wonks, etc.? 10,000...100,000...hell, even a 1,000,000? They're a minority and a tiny minority at that. Don't believe the hype. We're not divided; the overwhelming majority of people in this country are in agreement over the fundamentals of a civil society. Don't allow a vocal minority to skew that reality, to manipulate your perception. They're the MINORITY...they have no choice but to resort to manipulation, lies, subversion, and gaslighing. If they were the majority, they wouldn't bother with all that bullshit. They'd simply roll in the tanks and crush all opposition. The fact they haven't is PROOF they don't have the power everyone believes they have. I repeat it again; they are the M...I...N...O...R...I...T...Y! That's who makes up insurgencies. Otherwise they wouldn't be called insurgencies; they'd be called the current regime, the current ruling party. Don't believe the hype.

They can also talk about civil war and race war because they THINK it's imminent, because they've bought into a narrative, an angenda, a inaccurate perspective. I'm not suggesting there aren't problems, I'm not suggesting the Communist element in this country isn't pushing hard to foment a war; they most certainly are. They're still a minority. Look at the 2016 Presidential election; one of the most consequential elections in recent history. Voter turnout was 60%. There's 40% of the population sitting on the sidelines who aren't even politically active; mostly moderate or conservative. That's tens upon tens of millions of the population who largely just want to be left alone to live their lives and don't buy what the Commies are selling. The people talking about civil war and race war are people in legacy media and social media; again, a minority of the population. Only 22% of the population uses Twitter and only about 2% of those are the diehard, politically active types. Same with Facebook; it only has a 31% share of the US population. This narrative of civil war and race war are a tiny minority screaming at the top of their lungs inside their echo chambers. It's what a well-run insurgency does; supplants the on-the-round reality with their own subversive narrative. THEY'RE the ones who want the civil war, the race war because that's the only avenue to power for them. So they're going to turn the volume up to 11 and keep repeating the lie 24/7 until people start believe it's the truth. These radical / Marxist / Alinsky-ite / subversive / insurgency / Communist tactics have become so widespread and repeated they're transparent to anyone who studies such things. Go ask the crabber and oil field worker up in Alaska, the salmon fisher in Washington, the lumberjack in Oregon, the cattle rancher in Wyoming, the dairy farmer in Wisconsin, the lobsterman in Maine, the oil rig worker in the Gulf, the miner in Nevada, the coal worker in West Virginia, and on, and on, and on what they think of all this Commie BS. The nation is not divided. The majority want law and order, the majority want the civil society, the majority want peace and stability. It is a tiny minority co-opting media to make themselves sound like the majority in an effort to manipulate perception that are pushing this agenda. I don't disagree they can do damage. But theirs is not the mainstream view of even half the nation. Don't believe the hype. Don't be led into war over lies and manipulation. See them for what they are and by all means attack and destroy the ones responsible. But don't let them lead us into attacking one another over their fabrications. That's what they want. That's how they win, by stepping into the power vacuum after the dust settles. Don't fall for it.
