Seven injured in traditional ‘gunpowder fruit’ battle

Published on 28 Oct 2022 / In News & Politics

Brave participants took up arms in the annual ‘Hingot Yuddha’ festival in Gautampura, India. The tradition sees people hurl burning ‘Hingots’ - hollowed-out fruit filled with gunpowder - at each other, protecting themselves with improvised shields. Seven people were injured at this year’s battle, and that’s not counting the people slipping on discarded fruit.

Freedom over censorship, truth over narrative.
