A 1998 Cromwell/Lamancha Production War Documentary, narrated by Graham McTavish.

By 1942 the tide of war had finally started to swing in the favour of the Allied forces. As the industrial might and great cities of Germany suffered as never before, Hitler promised revenge. Soon vengeance weapons were developed and deployed, a turning point in the technological history of warfare. The V1, otherwise known as the Doodle Bug would cause havoc in the streets of Britain's capital. However, as the Allied forces closed in on the Third Reich, in a desperate attempt to stop the onslaught - the V2 was launched for the first time. In the dying days of the Third Reich, who would have believed that such a weapon could have been produced. A weapon, if given more time, that could have completely altered the outcome of the war. Featuring rare archive footage, stunning 3-D computer graphics and rare film of the last surviving rockets, this is a privileged glimpse into the world of Hitler's arsenal.

I have a lot of very detailed and technical footage of these "delivery systems" and - Jesus Fuck - there was so much fucking around after the manufacturing stage, to transport and launch them....

It just drives me insane watching them..... They just don't roll them out of the factories, ready to launch..... Nit picky things aside like fueling them up.

Uggghhhhhhhh!

One of the things about all of this technology was the failure to make them an an integrated system - though this is not as easy as it seems, it's also very poorly done.

Granted that the V2 or A4, was a paper thin shell of a rocket, with a big warhead, paper thin propellant tanks, and a fairly big motor, they ought to have made the assembly "loose and open" so that all the components could have been slid together, lifted up and fueled up sort of in the space of 5 minutes...

But there is just so much fucking around, using so much equipment and so many people... in so many locations.

And the V1 - and it's launcher AND the launching ramp.... Jesus Fuck - I mean they worked but, there had to have been better ways to do the entire system.

I mean they could have set down light rails and a soft suspended trolley and a JATO motor.... - rather than building these huge ramps and bunker houses..

Wheeled them in and shot them off.....

Again a small team launching one off every 5 minutes...
