In our special Sanchez Effect series from Tehran, Rick sits down with a top voice of the Islamic Republic’s government. Mr. Shafieian explains how the U.S. leader’s words influenced the recent riots: when he said, go ahead, take over, I’ll be there for you – some protesters took that as a green light; it’s like being on a ladder and thinking someone will catch you if you fall – and so many took the plunge.

Mr. Shafieian also pointed out that Reza Pahlavi, the son of Iran's last Shah who’s being backed by Israel, has been vocal in calling people to the streets and suggesting that bloodshed is necessary. Mr. Shafieian adds that Western media, particularly those tied to American and Israeli interests, amplify this message while interfering in Iran's internal affairs and taking advantage of protesters.

The Iranian president’s media adviser says that while protesters have legitimate grievances, the U.S. has historically created conditions that hurt ordinary people in Iran. He emphasized that despite intense economic warfare, the government is doing its best to manage issues.

Rick also spoke with the family of an IRGC volunteer who was brutally killed by rioters. They shared the heart-breaking story of his death and the legacy he left behind. To delve into the enduring impact of those protests on lives in Iran, tune in exclusively to RT’s Sanchez Effect from the country’s capital.
