that's kinda unique in how they made the characters in the game function. the girl with the flashlight follows where you look lol almost as she is linked to you telepathically or something.

oh, nevermind. you play both characters in the game, interesting ....

Yeah to be honest it seems unnecessary and was a annoying at first, but as a game mechanic it does make sense and grew on me.

@Sentient_Of_Truth: The AI or a player can use each character. I should have mentioned in the description that the first part is one player and that co-op starts later, maybe I'll add that to avoid confusion.

@Sentient_Of_Truth: No worries, I'm the same way about certain things I competley understand and it's good to know what someone might want to see that's why I appreciate the input. If no one told me I wouldn't know. I won't spend to much time making changes but if it's relatively simple or not time consuming, why not?

i know this is a weird obsession of mine, but i was watching a video the other day that was originally recorded at 1444p. but i was watching it at 360p because my internet was really bad, but i noticed by how the video looked, and it looked almost like i was watching 720p resolution while i was actually watching it at 360p.

and it seems the video quality is much clearer when these circumstances are the set place to make it appear as such.

it's very interesting to me in how well it looked at such a low resolution.
now your video resolution is at 360p but i assume it was originally recorded at a higher res because of how it looks on the screen.

I'm not an expert on this but here is what I have learned, The scaling might have something to do with it. But I think what is a major factor is the encoder speed. Bascially the higher it is the better the quality. So you can have a 720p video that looks worse than a 360p video if the the 720p video has a low encoder speed and the 360p has a high encoder speed. The encoder can also be variable, this is where the computer tries to decide when to lower or raise the encoder speed while rendering. When I render at a lower resolution I always raise the encoder speed as high as possible (this includes staying within file size limits), and with higher resolutions I try to keep it high while keeping file sizes small.

There are other variables that affect quality, but one that comes to mind is format some are lossless and others have types of compression. So just like an image these will affect quality too.

@tarknan: hmn... encoder speed, that's really interesting, that might be the best explanation i have come across as i was just eyeing it lol

Another one is bitrate, the higher it is the more data is rendered per second thus a higher quality video.

@tarknan: now that one I did know about, I found out the hard way with that one. Nvidia has a built in recording software that was recording so much storage of information, at the time I couldn't understand why I would record any video say an hour long video at 720p res. And the file size ending up to being around 64GB file size when it should have only been 5GB at most. But yeah, I eventually learned that setting typically needs to be set at 8 to 15% this way it consumes way less storage.

The thing is, I couldn't even tell the difference in quality in the video. Another user on here told me of a program called handbrake that allows downsizing of videos and I downloaded it and figured out how to use it so well that even for videos that were just audio, I learned how to reduce even further, because of my other obsession with efficiency.

@Sentient_Of_Truth: Ah ok, it just came to mind. Yeah Handbrake is a good program I would use that to rip dvds along with dvd43 in the past. I agree efficiency is great. It seems like these days though no one cares about it. Whether it's a AAA video game or artwork on a site the file sizes are huge when they don't need to be.

@tarknan: well i learned from the owner of this website that size matters and explained that's the reason why bitchute doesn't have the resolution slider it's forced at 480p but the problem with that is if your internet is running like dog shit that day, you can't load the video lol, but having a lower resolution not only keeps costs down for the website but it also makes it so the video runs better with less interruptions, this is why the majority of my mirrored TFM shows are only 240p. i mean there is no reason a video that contains nothing on the screen to have any resolution higher than the lowest res, unless you want to show something with the audio. i do it because my internet is shit most of the time. and uploads are much faster when i upload an reduced audio file that contains no visuals on the screen anyway, because the files i had were only mp3 that i had to convert back into video lol. it's one hell of a process.... this is what my playlists look like so far. https://www.mgtow.tv/@Sentient...._Of_Truth?page=play-

@Sentient_Of_Truth: I thought Bitchute was 360p, did it change or do I have that wrong? Yeah I've had plenty of issues with bitchute, good site just a lot issues. Yeah that's good point, I think people forget that the internet doesn't have infinite bandwidth and depending on the situation it can be very limited. Just because you can render a 4k video doesn't mean it's a good idea. I went through your playlist a bit, very nice. The quality is good and I like that you have the older shows, brings back memories. It's funny that you're converting something that was a video back into a video, and yeah I bet that's quite the process but that kind of work is how things get archived and be enjoyed by others, that has value.

KEEPER 3 years ago

@tarknan: yeah, i asked the owner if he would be able to get the website to take mp3 formats, and he tried to make it work, but this website is just a bit to limited in that area, i mean he was on board with the idea because he wanted to save on bandwidth but he couldn't figure out how to do it and i was really jonseing to get these shows out there lol, i have been holding onto these since 2017 on my phone and all together it took up around 42GB of storage on my 62GM micro SD lol. the funny thing is i was able to somehow reduce the sizes of the mp3s in an mp4 file. using handbreak, i swear that program is magic.

KEEPER 3 years ago

so say one of the shows was around 300MB file size, then i was able to convert it to video and reduce it to only 100MB file size. that's supposed to be impossible lol which is why i say it's magic.

tarknan 3 years ago

@Sentient_Of_Truth: Yeah that would be a cool feature, especially because there is an audience that just wants audio. Ha ha that's some dedication to keep them on your phone for that long. Yeah handbrake is good, I might start using it again it's been a long time. But I remember I would use to scale movies/videos for devices. I still save videos to sd cards or flash drives but they usually take up a lot of room. I don't need them to be HD though especially because I usually watch them on a small screen, tablet/phone etc.

@tarknan: i originally started doing it because i worked security and the location i was working at didn't always have the best internet capability or that i could get, i was underground quite a bit where internet service was limited going through all that concrete or dirt lol. and i was kind of a cheap fucker as i wanted to save on my bills by only using my wifi for streaming and downloading and my phone's internet was more for information as the data plan was really small. can you imagine having 4g speeds with an 500MB plan? and my phone bill was really cheap for it.

KEEPER 3 years ago

@tarknan: so that's why i downloaded them into mp3 but i also knew at some point he was going to be censored and it was only a matter of time to when it was going to happen, so i snached them and held onto them until i could figure out how to reupload them, even when TFM had to put all his videos in private on his channel because mamma susan was getting angery of a bunch of us advocating taking women's rights away on her platform lol. she finally started paying attention lol.

@Sentient_Of_Truth: I can understand that I definitely have been in areas where internet is basically non-existent. Nothing cheap about wanting to save money. Ha ha that sounds like a good plan.

KEEPER 3 years ago

@tarknan: funny enough, i learned that type of mentality from TFM's economics videos. there were some things i couldn't really wrap my head around in some of those videos tho later i slowly understood them better. sometimes it takes me a few times to learn something before i can understand what i'm doing. and living and working in security like i was was an difficult lifestyle, not exactly as rewarding as you would like. but it allowed my freedom for the most part, where most jobs will demand you take the earphones out of your ear while you work. i was mostly an free agent, i always left one ear open just incase my walkytalky went off.

@Sentient_Of_Truth: Yeah it's amazing he lasted as long as he did on youtube, guess his audience got too big. That was a good idea, even if you didn't know what to do with them at the time. Ha ha, yeah probably not her favorite content, I also think it's interesting how much attention MGTOW in general is getting these days.

KEEPER
KEEPER 3 years ago

@tarknan: well there are a lot of issues surrounding mgtow. and it's all stuff TFM talked about within his past shows that helped me understand of what was to come, but he even admits that he didn't think things would escalate this soon and this badly with politics and all the bullshit that has transpired for all these 4 years of constant nonsense. it sounds like we are heading into an collapse or we are heading into an communist takeover and both eventually collapse, however they are heading to china's kind of communism which is more stable but just as bad as all the rest. and i would rather we collapse than go into communism, i would rather die on my feet than live on my knees.

@Sentient_Of_Truth: For a long time I was in a community where it was impossible not to hear Dave Ramsey, I liked to save and had some good habits to begin with so I listened to the show. So it was funny to hear a lot of the same from TFM. But it is good advice and I've learned a lot from his economic videos too. I can be a slow learner too but I think what matters is how much time and work you put into something. A little bit of freedom goes a long way, just being able to have an earbud can have a lot of potential. You can learn about a lot while getting paid. It can be difficult dealing with some jobs or situations but as long as you have your health, and are willing to work there is a lot that can be overcome.

wow. so this video was 2 and a half hours long and uploaded at 360p, i wonder how big the file was within it's entirety? i'm going to guess the file was recorded at an much higher resolution originally like 1080p or something. then was reduced to a much smaller size. are you an paying member? or are you a free member?

if you are a free member that would only allow 1GB to be used, and if you are paying member like say $1 to $3 you had up to at least 10GB to work with for the upload.

i'm just curious how big the file size was for this? i wish this website had the file size show up when they were uploaded so my curious mind wouldn't need to think about these kinds of things lol.

i'm guessing the file size was somewhere between 300MB to 1GB. but i don't know for sure.

The original file was recorded at 1080p, at 60fps with a file size of 17.9 GB (17,940,494,467 bytes). Then it was scaled down to 360p at 60fps, with a file size of 2.0 GB (1,981,794,805 bytes). I'm working with a 10 GB limit on this site, after posting this video it's showing I have used 1.8 GB out of 10 GB for this month. I might be able post the file size and other related information on the thumbnail and/or cue card in the future. You also may be able to see the file size through the download link on this site too.
