RESEARCH PROJECT X-15 THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE X-15

A very interesting NASA film on the other manned space program we were running along side Mercury and Gemini. Thanks to the X-15 we got a lot of the data to build the Shuttle.

Before Neil Armstrong landed on the Moon, he was an X-15 pilot (although he doesn't show up here because he wasn't famous yet).

In this elegant black bird we flew repeatedly into the weightless vacuum of space and returned safely to earth. But only space geeks like me heard about this program at the time.
