security can only interfere to some degree if stuff happened inside the store. Security for the most part...only observe and report. If they try to detain a suspect or someone acting a fool they could get in trouble for that. Now if it's a lvl 3 security officer...the rules are a bit different

@AbyssWatcher: Exactly they are worthless. We would be better off if there was more productive jobs that create wealth. Coppers, security, Gov suits, military, management, and others are net consumers who produce nothing of value. Like single moms. While a man working a real industrial occupation is creating wealth and prosperity. And is probably not grossly overweight like worthless security personnel. It's just more bloat like Gov.

@Toki: if security was given more authority, it would make a big difference; but of course if security has more powers; what the fuck is the point of the police?? Security can already carry out investigations. If they receive the power to arrest, they've pretty much become cops

@AbyssWatcher: There's also the point that the security employee gets paid to stand around and do nothing for 99% of their work shift. Maybe creep on people through surveillance cameras. In a way the security person is stealing from everyone because they get paid to produce nothing. Just like a copper who also gets paid to do produce nothing (for the average tax serf.) This is your inflation. Paying people to do nothing while leeching off the productive workers who are a shrinking class. In a sense the security personnel are also stealing from the workers in the store. Certainly stealing their privacy through surveillance.

@Toki: Security is supposed to be there to help distressed customers, follow OSHA guidelines in the event of unsafe work safety conditions, observe and report, and be a deterrent to crime since they are always watching The main reason for having security...is that they serve as a deterrent to crime. Of course with the way things are...serving as a deterrence against crime only works on people who do no want to get caught; now if the perpetrators of crime do not care about getting caught then security is worthless....since they cannot arrest or detain criminals. Like I said earlier, if they had the authority to arrest and detain criminals what is the point of calling the police? In that scenario criminals who do not want to be caught doing evil would be arrested frequently and since they would theoretically have the power to arrest people like the police or give citations crazy people would be on their best behavior. Of course the establishments...could decide to just hire police as their security from the get go...but they are too fucking cheap nor do they truly care about their employees and customers

Crime exists because of lack of production and wealth to go around. Again security produce nothing of value to contribute production and wealth. They are net consumers just like the single mother welfare pickpockets. And you can't stop women and non-Caucasians from stealing or your racist/sexist so security is useless. The police are too busy coercing hookers into free services to do any respond calls. Like I said. A shrinking amount of people producing value, while more and more people are becoming parasites such as security. If it makes you feel better I get treated like a thief when I go to my thankless job to earn a pathetic living while the Gov steals 50% of my income. What's the security going to do about the Gov stealing from me? Nothing, they are useless. Also the security in my area are weak. Two are women lol. One is trans lol. The others fat and soy. The men who do the real work in the building are the strong ones who could stop a threat, not the security.

@Toki: If things worked the way they were supposed to; ideally security is good but sadly the corruption has infected everything...even security. The majority of people who own loans and debts in the west are females; no one is marrying these useless females and the government and debt collectors need to get their money. So they would rather hire females than men in the workplace when possible these days. Of course this is gender discrimination but alas...we can't do anything about it. These females being used to fill up job positions are not qualified for those positions. I do know this...I will never rely on law enforcement for protection in the USA; it's worthless
