Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is a very painful disorder marked by deep seated fears of real or imaginary abandonment. CAUSED by mother-infant bonding-gone-wrong, persons suffering from BPD exhibit a lot of acting out behavior in the form of lack of impulse control in the area of sexual behavior, shopping, driving too fast, or even cutting themselves.



Most BPD's are female. Because they never developed the ability to regulate their emotions through experiencing consistent nurturing in early infancy, they are prone to relying on other's for their self esteem. When others fail them, they may go into a borderline rage and hurt themselves. The HOLE IN THE SOUL makes them feel empty and meaningless, so their self image is in constant flux.



Typically the BPD is attracted to the Narcissistic Personality Disorder, who are typically male and lack empathy. When the two get together, there is a re enactment of the triggering of the early childhood wound and the more the Narcissist rejects the Borderline, the more they do their pathological dance.

This is truly a "match made in hell."
