I don't mind a bit of spice but pain isn't any flavor I've ever heard of. Hottest hot sauce I've ever had was called Uncle Tom's Trippin Balls hot sauce, good sauce but best used sparingly.

Yeah - if a sauce is really good, tasty and very very hot..... back off and only use a spot of it, and spread really thinly.... I mean I LOVE hot chillies, but not for the outright hot effect - they are fresh - nutritional, tasty, wet, sweet, and good to eat.
But the "really" hot ones, slice them rice paper thin and spread them over steak sandwiches and hamburgers...
Burning your face off is pointless... unless it's to learn something...
However ADDING their brilliance to brilliant food... Fantastic.
