A new restaurant in Kerak, Jordan has sparked disbelief and outrage by naming itself ‘October 7,’ seemingly as a nod to the Hamas attacks which took place on that date. Photos and video of the restaurant’s exterior have been posted to social media, most notably by Jordanian MP and political analyst Dima Tahboub, who added a laughing emoji to her post on X.

Jordan recalled its ambassador to Israel in November, as an expression of ‘Jordan’s position of rejection and condemnation of the raging Israeli war on Gaza.’ Thousands of protesters have also called on the country’s government to rescind its peace deal with Israel, made in 1994, due to the conflict.
