Nelson Mandela presidency ending apartheid in South Africa | 29th Anniversary

This Wednesday marked 29 years since Nelson Mandela secured the reins as President of South Africa. This was the day which heralded the end of the country's decades-long apartheid regime.

Renowned South African poet, Zolani Mkiva, who personally knew Mr. Mandela, read RT a poem dedicated to the statesman, while also expressing his frustration about how the country's fight against apartheid was ignored by so many.
