🕌 In this wide-ranging lecture, Sheikh Imran N. Hosein examines the modern political world through what he describes as the world of the sacred, contrasting sacred politics and sacred history with political systems that reject divine guidance.

📘 The lecture begins with the Holy Land and the House of Abraham عليه السلام. Sheikh Imran traces what he understands to be the history of the divinely granted “great state,” beginning with Prophet David عليه السلام and Jerusalem, before examining how that sacred political authority moved through different stages of history.

🌙 A major focus of the lecture is Sheikh Imran’s interpretation of Rūm in the Qur’an. He argues that after Constantinople ceased to be the center of the Christian world, the historical and spiritual role of “Rūm” moved toward Moscow, leading him to identify Russia with a significant sacred role in the unfolding movement of history.

📖 The discussion then develops into Russia’s political mission. Sheikh Imran argues that a genuinely sacred state must seek to liberate the oppressed, but only after peaceful and diplomatic means have first been explored and exhausted. He applies this framework to contemporary conflicts and to his interpretation of Russia’s role in world affairs.

🕊️ The lecture also contrasts two movements of history. In Sheikh Imran’s analysis, one leads from Pax Britannica to Pax Americana and eventually toward what he calls Pax Judaica, while the other belongs to the sacred movement of history and culminates in the return of divine justice.

⭐ The session further turns to Jerusalem, the return of Jesus عليه السلام, and Imam al-Mahdi. Sheikh Imran argues that Imam al-Mahdi will unite the Muslim world across sectarian divisions, while Russia has a role in helping bring together Christians who remain faithful to Jesus. He presents these developments as preparation for the return of the Messiah and the final liberation of the oppressed.
