I might go do a couple of lamb chops - fried with chili sauce and then have a BIG pot of FRESH home made onion soup - with some mince as a stock - to get in a base flavour, and a ton of fresh finely chopped onions... Half hour simmer on the meat and 2 or 3 minutes slow boil on the onions.
He is a good cook..... Pity about the thimble full of food on a soccer field sized plate.
