When men (starting usually with their fathers) doesn't hold them accountable as children, they think they can do what they want as adults. Sure some rebel as children (my sister was once one of those, but straightened out as she got older, ie Prov. 22:6, 15), but "suddenly" remember once they get in trouble with the law.
