Where were you when you heard about the pumpkin incident of ‘23? Your future grandkids’ eyes will widen with wonder as you recount the tale of Zach Hodges, our valiant hero and accidental soccer genius. Then they’ll roll their eyes and yell ‘Mom, grandpa’s telling that pumpkin story again!’

Zach was in the middle of his restaurant shift, playing keepy-uppy with a pumpkin, as you do. His mad skills got a bit too mad, however, and he landed a perfect shot on goal, if the goal was a nearby woman’s head.

Hilariously, instead of checking if the woman was OK, Zach’s first thought was to check on his beloved pumpkin. In his defense, Zach captioned TikTok footage of the incident with ‘But why wasn’t she ready?’ Sadly this wasn’t enough to stop him from getting fired after the woman left a 1-star review.

However, this story has a happy ending. It seems businesses love publicity, and after the pumpkin incident reached over 34 million views, Zach was allowed to return to work, and to his pumpkin.

The moral of this story? Kicking pumpkins around restaurants isn’t normally a good idea, but it is really funny
