now that i think about it a little, i wonder if this lake was not only formed from a extinct volcano (which it obviously is) but also from a sink hole or something created when the lava channel at the bottom collapsed in on itself...
would be interesting if the volcanic channel at the bottom became active again lol (unlikely)

@sbseed: You need to do more research. Plenty of people have been to the bottom of the Mariana's Trench.

@Life_N_Times_of_Shane_T_Hanson: they have explored the parts that they can get too, not the actual bottom... unless they have made new submersibles in the past few years, remote control... they have explored quite a bit of it yes, i think it was like 70% of the bottom and then there where still parts where they could not reach...

was supposed to be deep enough to stand 3 of the empire state building on top of each other or something in some of the areas explored or supposedly anyways.

@sbseed: Check the facts and never assume, spread hear say, or express "Well I thought" - unless you qualify it as an assumption, an opionion, or so and so reckoned..... Deal in facts where ever possible. Also reaching the bottom - the deepest part, in not the same as exploring ALL or a great deal of the bottom.
