oil reason is bullshit, since the US can just print money and get the oil for free, no need to garisson troops, this is purely to DENY others the sell the oil (this is how ISIS got their money to wage war, and why Russia bombed the shit out of ISIS oil trucks)

@Lucifer333: Could be. Maybe to prevent Iraq from gaining any sort of independence and to protect the petrodollar. Remember, the main reason Saddam was kicked out was because he wanted to start selling oil in euros.

@Lucifer333: For Ghadaffi, there was an even bigger reason : the gold backed currency he was creating was a direct threat to the network of central banks that has been rolled out worldwide. All those North African countries that participated in his idea suddenly all had African spring uprisings. Coincidence? I think not.

@usr6874038614: anyone anywhere (as in nation state) starting a gold backed currency will be experiencing a "spreaking democracy" event. Switzerland dropped the gold standard in 2000 (because it takes a citizen majority in a referendum to do that) but as you know the Swiss gave women voting rights in1971 at the confederate level, so .... 29 years later they had to drop the gold standard to pay for the rising cost of the welfare state
