IDF fires tear gas to prevent festivities for released prisoners in West Bank

Israeli security forces fired tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse Palestinians gathered in the West Bank town of Beitunia to welcome prisoners released from Israeli jails early Friday under a deal between Israel and Hamas in exchange for hostages kept in captivity in Gaza.

Israel has said it will not allow festivities for the released prisoners in the parts of the West Bank it controls.
