Published on 08 May 2023 / In Film & Animation

Aluminum Extrusion is a manufacturing process that forces aluminum alloy through a die with a predetermined cross-sectional profile. The aluminum is pushed through the die with a powerful ram. When it comes out, it takes the shape of the die. In today's video, you would understand what is aluminum extrusion and how are aluminum extrusions made?

It's interesting to see the pre-heated and malleable billet didn't glow red hot at all.

I used to work in heat treatment and resetting train springs by hand... and I forget the EXACT temperature, but in a very dark room, things start glowing super dull red around 575*C.... Alumium is super moltern at 650*C - that is an orangy-red. And preheating the billots - well it doesn't glow at all... and if you were naked and wanting to warm up, by standing near it, what ever you do, don't back your bare arse up to it...
