‘Dying in our house is more honorable’ – Gaza family living in rubble after home destroyed by shelling

A woman and her children in Rafah, southern Gaza, are living amongst the rubble of what used to be their home, which was destroyed by shelling. In footage recorded on Wednesday, 20-year-old Iman shared the struggles of what now constitutes their daily routine, explaining that the family sleeps in a local school at night, but returns to their home during the day to cook, wash clothes and perform other tasks.

Iman is adamant that she and her family will not flee Gaza despite the danger, arguing that leaving her homeland will put her in greater danger, and that it would be ‘more honorable’ to die in her home.
