Mmmmm K.

I don't do drugs.... but with the "I want a fuck, I want a fuck, I want a fuck" nut case, that is trying to fuck me, that is the ONE question I have not entertained yet. Is she doing drugs, like WEED etc. She is too fat for meth, but not alcohol and weed.

It's nice that you have framed this as comedy... but the reality is dark and bad.

It's the ONE thing that never got spread, that at the end of the summer of love in 65 or 67, the Hippies held a communal burial for the concept of doing drugs, free love and all that, turned out to be a very bad idea as a social experiment. As one of the women involved with it, said, "At the start we had free food, communal kitchens on the street etc., and everyone shared but after a summer of drugs and crazy shit - there were so many people who were drug fucked and destroyed, they NEEDED the free food from the street kitchens... " They were fucked and could not look after themselves.

One of my friends was the late great Professor Charles Slack who was manufacturing LSD at UCLA Berkley along with Timothy Leary and he came out of that whole era, drug fucked, mind blown and in shitfully bad shape.

Drugs ARE bad. Mmmm K.

Now let’s return to Timothy Leary. In the following quote Stevens makes clear Leary’s contempt for the middle class, which provides the motive for all of these attacks on the “sheep-like bourgeois”:

Leary also impressed them with his contempt for everything middle class, which was nothing exceptional at Harvard, except that Leary's gibes contained an abrasive edge that went far beyond the usual swipes at the sheep-like bourgeois; Tim really did hate those faceless, conforming Organization Men. Charles Slack, a fellow psychology instructor and frequent drinking partner, concluded that one of Leary's most powerful drives was his desire to "escape the middle class … his whole career was a flight from middle-class values, relationships, people, scenes, everything."[150] [emphasis added] ~ Jay Stevens

“You know, I really am a psychopath.” “I know you are,” replied [Charles] Slack, “but I’m one too.” “You aren’t in my league at all,” Leary said.[118]

12. Charles W. Slack, Timothy Leary, the Madness of the Sixties and Me (Peter H. Wyden, 1974), p.7.

Here is where to get a copy of it in PDF from.

And Charles Slack and I had a MIXED relationship - he was the one who said, "If a woman is only after you, for a fuck, and she can't get into your pants in the first 5 minutes, then she will just go off and fuck someone else. Play hard to get, and the ones that are really wanting to have a relationship with you, will be the ones who are putting in the time and effort to develop a relationship with you."

Yeah I did go and get a copy of Slacks 1968 book, and I skim read it.. and it's pretty much in league of the books of that era, like "Catch 22" and "The Dice Man" and "Alvin Tofflers - Future Shock". It has a particular style of those "acid head" talk big shit type stuff and although Slack and I were good friends for many years, he was using at the time he wrote it, and was infested with the drug culture space cadet mentality. As a historical record or reference, Slacks book has value, but anything, written by anyone, doing drugs and taking LSD, tend to be full of shit. It's like my good friend Hunter S. Thompson - when I was young and using, and in desperate times, "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" had an intrinsic comedy value. The movie, made with Hunter, was probably the best book to movie translation ever made. But when it came to all the accolytes of Thompson, saying the guy was a fucking genius who changed history, well they were all drug fucked idiots, and "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" was a dead end shit head trip, by a drug fucked arsehole. I wrote to Hunter, saying, yeah you had some issues with and in the end, taking drugs was a solution but it was also a trap, but you never did what it took to get out of that shit hole and to show others the way out, if you never had the balls to do it your self". The night that Hunter suicided, the last thing he did was type, "Councillor" on his type writer. No one else in the world knew what he meant, but I did. He told the world, "If your in over your head and can't get out, get help" - he did that because I told him to do that.
