She acted like a helpless bystander. Partner easily could've been killed, especially if the attacker was male.

I used to do ballistics tests.... and while the hypervelocity 0.22rounds - being very small and light and hollow point, were remarkable rounds, and they were intended to shoot small things like rabbits... And they went perhaps 20mm into a phone book. But the solid point, subsonic 0.22 rounds.... they went in perhaps 50mm. Different rounds, different designs, different bullet weights, highly expanding vs. solid point etc.. but I'd assume that the cops were using nice hole boring solid points, possibly 9mm, I think if you were to be on the receiving end of 12 rounds on full auto - you would be pretty fucked - on the spot.... I would be interesting to find out which police they were, what guns and ammunition they were kitted out with... etc... There was a 0.22 machine gun that has a 180 round drum magazine, and it shot on full auto.... Like compared to a bigger rifle round - like a 0.308" the 0.22 was a pretty weak round , but the sheer amount of 0.22 rounds flying out - that depending upon the target/s and the range etc., that is a lot of dead, dying and injured people..... Or using it as a single shot weapon to keep their heads down etc... So the cops gun, sounded a bit like a toy.... but 12 rounds into that bitch.... at that range.... AND I don't know the make of the pistol, but it stay aimed on target during the firing cycle - meaning that the barrel has ports to direct the barrel down, to counteract the barrel lift...

@Life_N_Times_of_Shane_T_Hanson: Well that's all well and good, my friend, but combat specialists might think otherwise. Guns jam, bullets miss. Not all shots connect or stop. A few footsteps closes the gap in milliseconds. Anyway, in this case things worked out, but there have been cases where guns lost the knife fight.
