Congo decides to auction off peatlands and forests for oil drilling

Democratic Republic of Congo officials have admitted that saving the planet ‘is not our priority’. The country is planning to auction off vast swathes of tropical peatlands and rainforest for oil and gas drilling, despite promises to preserve them.
