The Court holds that a limiting instruction is not enough to cure a Confrontation Clause problem that is presented by a confession that implicates a co-defendant. So, prosecutors that wish to introduce a confession that implicates a co-defendant have two options: (1) redact the confession so that the co-defendant is not implicated whatsoever, or (2) sever the trials.
