Attempted police stabbing attack in Jerusalem

A Palestinian woman has been arrested after a failed stabbing attack on an Israeli police officer. The 44-year-old from Jenin, in the West Bank, pulled a knife on the officer as he stood guard near the Old City. However, she was unable to penetrate his stab-proof vest despite many attempts. The woman was kicked to the ground in the ensuing confrontation and arrested by the officer, accompanied by three nearby members of the Israeli Defense Force. The police later released a statement saying that she was detained ‘without gunfire’ and with no injuries.
