The African Union is raising concerns about the fairness of credit ratings assigned to countries on the continent and is taking steps to introduce a new African credit rating agency next year. We had the opportunity to speak with Misheck Mutize, a prominent African expert on credit ratings, who shed light on why the African Union believes the current credit ratings for African nations are unjust and the advantages that would come with establishing such an institution within the bloc.
