I'm sorry man but this dude is a bit wrong in my view. When shtf, your "hard assests" shiny rocks and such mean nothing. You can only hold land with force, that's why we pay property taxes because we recognize maybe even subconsciously the government will ultimately take our property by force for not paying tribute. It is the right of conquest. The best way to protect yourself in hard times is having a stable community of people around you who are not dependent on the government and can weather supply chain interruptions. If stability is broken in the united states, the stability of many other countries in the world will also falter. A millionaire dashing around from country to country by plane will just draw attention you might as well get a t-shirt and paint a bullseye on the back haha. When you pass immigration or border control they will know where you are at. People like this are imprisoned and/or executed when real communism comes. You want to be the "grey man". They will take your assets too. Your best assets will be how many bullets you have and if you have a group of people that support each other. If you invest in land and the government is no longer stable enough to protect and enforce your right to the land, then who will protect your right to ownership? You by yourself? No, your land will be taken by the strongest force in the area. That is exactly what happens in a communism.
