It's actually also biological. Pre-menopausal women are releasing the last of their eggs and their hormones are crazy. Once the menopause sets in they may overcompensate for the lack of biological drive to have sex, but in many cases they just get fat and give up. I've known some women that kept their sex drive after, but they're rare and usually had a high sex drive anyway.
With modern women it really means they'll just be more promiscuous, more likely to cheat, more likely to divorce, and more likely to be sexually impulsive because there are NO restraints. All sex drive and no restraints = bad news for any man trying to have any kind of meaningful relation with her, especially with a woman that still looks sexy.
Physically: It's their one and only purpose. Their body is trying to do what the women themselves, were too stupid to accomplish, propagate life.

Human females (aka "women") do not have a sex drive. They have a gold-digging drive. The older women know that their time to cash in is rapidly coming to a close so their "horniness" for $$$ increases. That's all.
