I'm going to be disliked for saying this but I don't get this concept of cheating when you're not married. I mean clearly the guy did not propose yet so he should have had no expectation of exclusive access to her body.

That boyfriend/girlfriend concept is messed up IMHO. People should be either married, engaged or single. Make things clear.

I see a relationship as a trial of the character of my partner, I use this time to estipulate my rules and set boundaries of what I expect from my girlfriend, if she breaks them she's not worthy of an engagement or something more serious. However, I agree with you in a sense, because if you don't set your boundaries at the beginning of a relationship don't go expecting your partner to have the same values you do and to follow rules that you "think" they know. But I'm not from the US, so my point of view might be different due to cultural differences.

True. I agree, no ring, no commitment, BUTT the federal government has entered the bedroom and screwed everything up. Just don't get married or cohabitate for three days or more at your residence with her... the government changed the length of "residency."
