but sauger this wouldn't be true just 25 years ago. The US has increased special forces size to a rather large capacity to deploy troops without declaring war. You are correct a lot of the military is soft now because it is basically a works program now filled with "in the rear with the gear" types. The special forces are indeed still capable and these are the real fighting forces. You could probably get a significant amount of the russian soldiers to defect by offering them citizenship

I think you are right I guess I just think the special forces are still true soldiers, it just sucks because joining the military now is too much of a bureaucratic mess

@TelepathicRapist: Because the US uses private armies like Black water or simply mercanaries.. Same thing for Russia with " Wagner ".. War is totally different these days than it was decades ago.. Many powerful countries use those kind of services now ! Special forces are always well trained but the problem is that they are a litte faction in an army... The rest are just " normal " soldiers..

I also recognize that the US utilizes military contractors who act as mercenaries in some cases, but I would argue these people are relatively small in number. All governments have bad actors, people in the know realize Joe Biden is nuts and is running off at the mouth. It is a close competition which government is more corrupt, US, Ukraine, or Russia. As corrupt as the US is, I would still argue the US is the least corrupt of the three. Russia is Nigeria with snow. Ukraine isn't even a country, it essentially a mob run territory.
