This one is just for Terrence Popps - I understand the horror of this - I did it as a child and quickly disliked it.

Most of the gear we use is generic and interchangeable.
This is the gear we like and wouldn't trade.

Audio Glasses

*I have hearing problems and this company sent us these as a courtesy and have been very helpful. If you like listening to music or if you have a "hum in the drum" like me, this is a cool way to wear glasses or sunglasses while listening to music without headphones.

Life_N_Times_of_Shane_T_Hanson

As a child of about 6 or 7, I generally heeded the warnings of the adults like "Do not dig tunnels into the some what stabilised sand dunes with heaps of growth on them, that had been partly eroded by the wind and the waves at the beach - giving a nice vertical-ish wall to tunnel into - because the sand will collapse and kill you kiddies...."

OK fair enough said I.

BUT on the way over to my uncle and aunties place, there was a sandy "dirt road" with a corner in it, and the corner had a sandy embankment in it, about say Ooooo a meter high. And someone or something, had dug a narrow domed roof tunnel in it, that went in about a meter or so and then popped up on the other side of the farm type wire fence - of the sort that keeps sheep in it.

I mean you could just go between the strands of wire to get through the fence so that wasn't the issue.

But as a 6 or so year old boy I was a skinny as a weed, and I decided to go through the tunnel - and I deduced that it had been dug by another child, and the over burden was all sand - perhaps 30 or 40 cm deep, with a little organic matter in it and a very fine mesh of plant roots though it so it was firm and stable.

But it turned out that I got most of the way into the tunnel and was almost near the vertical exit hole and I was not wedged in the tunnel and stuck, I was stuck in the sense there was no more room to move and I could advance no further - but there was fuck all room and I had to reverse out on my back, with my fingers and caterpillar style wiggling to get back out.

Ever since then that whole being buried alive thing has freaked me out so badly....

And people who do this caving shit for a sport, of crawling through spaces like in the video - I just think, "Are you out of your fucking mind?"

It just horrifies me.

I can't even look at the picture.

I have literally hung from my fingertips and toes over certain death countless times. Rock climbing is a bad ass sport. However under no circumstances would I ever do some shit like that. Props to that guy
