I have a reverse osmosis drinking water system! I now would be a good time to get new filters for it, it's been a while!

Get an extra set, or two. Next time, you may not find them.

I drink reverse osmosis water too, gets rid of a bunch of the fluoride and stuff, not all of it but most of it. that plus all the iodine I put in it keeps me safe and healthy

Wait a minute.
This is useless to me. I don't drink tap water, not do I cook with it.
But... I want to learn how to build a container that doesn't leak, and is not made of plastic, so I can filter water. In a reservoir, all I need is a fish or two, to keep the water clean, and it's in itself an indicator of the water quality, if the fish dies, the water may not be that good anymore.
Also a "cheap" alternative to plastic plumbing. I'm considering concrete and stones, which is anything but cheap, although the stones are free, carrying them is not, and concrete... FFS.
Any ideas on channelling water, and the construction of such channels without resorting to plastics and shit, are more than welcome.

Remember all of the tainted water is being used to make the food. Any food products made with the water, which means pretty much everything from the store,is gonna have the snake venom in it. So unless you don't have to shop anymore you're probably eating the venom and it's still accumulating in your body

@TheDemonKing: oh, that I am for sure. Although I'm doing my best to drop the supermarket, I can't do it yet.

@TheDemonKing: we're so wrapped in this dependency on everyone else, we don't even realise.

We've been thinking of building a water reservoir with sandbags and big sheets of plastic. Just build a big tall sandbag tank the same way you'd build a wall with it,barbed wire between each layer and rebar every few layers, line it with plastic secured with big stapes. Might have to use a little concrete to make the bags a bit more secure though we're still in the planning stages for our reservoirs

all we have right now are big 250 gallon tanks we bought and those are kinda expensive brand new,we lucked out buying them from a nearby farm for $50 each

@TheDemonKing: I don't want to use plastic. It's a nasty product for your food. I want to get a wood box as my grandmother had, to keep my meat in salt. I want to learn how to keep my vegetables in glass jars, and so on. Anything, food related, I can't get locally or make myself, I want to not depend on it.

@TheDemonKing: I have no idea what 250 gallons is. There are containers built from fiber glass, but its the same shit as plastic, as it is made with chemical resins. I've seen ones made out of concrete, can only imagine for how much those go for.

@The Man Inside: assuredly cheaper to just buy the concrete and make it yourself. We just got what we could get cheaply so we would have something, just big 4 foot tall plastic containers with a metal frame securing them so they can hold all the water weight. I know I can't choose anything expensive. Water is water, plastic won't kill you especially if it's more expensive better plastic, but dehydration will kill you. If you can't find a perfect alternative you can afford, just do what you can. When it comes to survival the word "perfect" is gonna get a LOT of people killed

@The Man Inside: sucks you can't produce you're own food. We're building a storage room right now and soon we'll have a solar dehydrator to preserve it too. Probably best if you can get out of wherever you are and move to the country if you can, find cheap land far away from civilization where you can actually raise some chickens and grow a garden. If you can't you've gotta figure out what you can do with a small amount of space a small amount of land

@TheDemonKing: oh no, I need no perfection. I know where to get water I can just drink, but I have no intention to live like an animal in the wild. I'll do it if there's no other way, but if I can avoid it, I will. I need to make sure I can get all I need from where I am. Water, food and shelter.

@TheDemonKing: I'm growing my food. Mate, there's no cheap land here anymore. This place has gone mad.
