Just more proof (something else most don't want to hear, much to our demise) that we CAN'T put our faith/trust in man, and expect a positive outcome. JMO.

People be lazy bro.

When Edward Snowden happened I think it was the daily show (apply salt) showed via street interviews no one cared the fbi was spying on them. Most people only care about food, sex and money. You know this already too. But you hoped it wasn't so. I get that.

Good cold open.

Of course I'm not referencing normies here. We're talking about decentralized project techs and long-standing mgtow content authors that should know better. The bar should be higher for both.

@zeitgeisteater: In theory, yes. In reality, most are red pill or against the system only in rhetoric, normies in action. It's too much effort.

It’s really sad. I’m also worried about Odysee. It hasn’t truly broken free and can have the plug pulled on it at any time. I guess all opposition has become controlled opposition. We’ll find out during the next socio-political stress-test of society, like we had during the 2020 US presidential elections, when Parler was taken down. Everyone will then learn what Academy of Ideas has been describing - the need to create a TRULY independent parallel economy and infrastructure, without ANY entanglements in the existing mainstream economy and infrastructure. BTW, how do you rate Gab? I get non-stop newsletters from them about how their infrastructure is truly independent and resilient, albeit centralised.

We are transitioning from an open society to a closed society. I’ve been thinking about this a lot. I personally believe that the future of free speech lies in closed online communities like private torrent trackers, where like minded individuals will have to be vetted to get in, and put in some work in order to stay in. This will not stop the communities from being infiltrated by bad actors, but at least on the whole people will feel at ease being among others who share their basic core ideas, values, feelings and worldviews, and most of all their devotion to the earnest pursuit of truth. MGTOW.tv is an example. It’s not a closed community, but that’s because it hasn’t grown big enough to influence millions of people. Perhaps someday truth itself will become the prerogative of a small minority.

@zeitgeisteater: Yep. I know about TFM. They yeeted him off rather covertly, never sent him an official notice. It’s intended as a platform for conservatives, so they won’t entertain his “take women’s rights away” stance, or his thing with sex dolls. Like I said, the future is private communities each devoted to a certain group of people. But they seem to have the platform independence boxes checked, as in there is no dependency on the mainstream infrastructure.

@shox: I cannot disagree with you. Even our project allows people to launch their own networks (ours being just one of those). In practice you would probably end up with federated alliances of private communities cross-linking.
