A concrete obelisk which was the last part of a commemorative monument to the Soviet Army’s victory over the Nazis has been toppled in Riga, sending clouds of dust into the air.

This monument was put up to remember the people who fought in the great patriotic war, and not the ideologies of the sides in the war.
This is a shame that such wonderful monuments were destroyed - and for what? To disrespect the millions who died?
