Congolese military accuse rebels of mass murder and kidnapping as tensions boil once again

Despite a truce that was reached last week, violence has flared in Eastern DRC between government troops and rebel forces, with the Congolese government accusing the rebels of violating the ceasefire and of ‘continuing to loot and fight.’ Meanwhile, mass protests against the presence of a UN mission in the DRC have erupted in the city of Goma.
